404 page
The 404 page is what customers land on when they follow a broken or outdated link. Akira's 404 section is built to help them recover in place, with clear messaging, a search bar, a link back to your homepage, and an optional set of suggested products.
Section settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Suggested products heading | The heading shown above the suggested products, for example "You might like". |
| Suggested products collection | The collection the suggested products are pulled from. |
| Color scheme | Sets the color scheme applied to this section. |
| Top padding | Space above the section, in pixels. |
| Bottom padding | Space below the section, in pixels. |
Helping visitors recover
Alongside the not-found message, the page includes a built-in search bar and a link back to the homepage, so a visitor who hit a dead link has two immediate ways forward instead of relying on the browser's back button.
Suggested products
Set a suggested products collection to show a small grid of products beneath the main message. Pick a collection that's broadly appealing, such as bestsellers or new arrivals, rather than a narrow or seasonal one, since you have no way of knowing what the visitor was originally looking for.
Tip: Point the suggested products collection at a "Bestsellers" or "Best of" collection rather than leaving it unset. A 404 page with nothing to click but the homepage link is a missed chance to keep the visitor shopping.
