Unit pricing
Unit pricing, such as "$4.99 / 100ml", is a legal requirement in some regions, including the EU, for certain product categories. Akira displays it automatically wherever it applies, with no theme setting to turn on.
Where Akira shows unit price
Whenever a variant has unit price data set, Akira displays the unit price and its measurement in every place that variant's price appears:
- The product page, alongside the regular price.
- The collection grid, under each product's price.
- The cart, next to the relevant line item.
- The customer's order history, against the ordered item.
There is nothing to configure in the theme editor for this. If a variant has no unit price data set, Akira simply shows the regular price with no unit pricing line.
Set unit price measurement in Shopify admin
Unit price measurement is set per variant in the Shopify admin, not in the theme. Open a product, go to the relevant variant, and set the value under Unit price, entering the reference amount and unit (for example, per 100ml or per kg). Akira reads this data directly and displays it wherever needed.
Tip: If you sell a product in a region where unit pricing is required, set the unit price on every variant of that product, not just the default one, since each variant can have its own measurement.
