Pickup availability
When local pickup is enabled on one of your Shopify locations, Akira automatically shows customers where they can collect their order, right on the product page. There's no theme setting to turn this on: it's driven entirely by your location and inventory configuration in Shopify admin.
How it works
If a variant is in stock at a location that has local pickup turned on, Akira displays a pickup availability panel underneath the buy buttons. The panel shows the location name and typically how soon the order will be ready. If the variant is out of stock everywhere pickup is enabled, the panel doesn't appear for that variant.
The panel updates live as the customer changes variant selection (size, color, and so on), since availability is checked per variant, not per product.
Multiple pickup locations
If a variant is available for pickup at more than one location, Akira adds a "check other stores" option so the customer can see the full list without leaving the product page. This is useful for stores with several physical locations, since it avoids sending customers to a separate page just to check stock elsewhere.
Setting it up
Pickup availability is configured entirely in Shopify admin, not in the theme editor:
| Step | Where |
|---|---|
| Enable local pickup | Settings → Locations → select a location → enable "Local pickup" |
| Set stock per location | Products → select a product → Inventory, set quantity per location |
| Set pickup instructions | Settings → Locations → pickup instructions field |
Tip: If the pickup panel isn't showing for a product you expect it on, check that the variant actually has stock at a pickup-enabled location. A location with local pickup turned on but zero inventory for that variant won't show a panel.
