No. Miko Loyalty and Rewards runs on every Shopify plan, including Basic. Points, VIP tiers, referrals and store credit all work without Shopify Plus, and the rewards widget installs as an App Embed with no theme code changes.
Can customers redeem loyalty points at Shopify checkout?
Yes. Miko Loyalty uses native Checkout UI Extensions, so shoppers can apply their points as a discount inside Shopify's own checkout rather than being sent to a separate page. That works on standard Shopify plans, not only on Plus.
What is the difference between points, VIP tiers and store credit?
Points are earned per order or action and redeemed for a discount. VIP tiers group customers by lifetime spend and unlock better earn rates or perks automatically. Store credit is a fixed balance you can issue directly, useful for refunds and goodwill. Miko Loyalty runs all three from one app so they share a single customer balance.
