The brief

World of Crow makes clothing from hand-woven and hand block-printed organic fabrics, ethically made in India and sold to customers across the US.

The store needed to be quiet and quick, a frame for the photography and the textiles, with the practical details of fit and fabric exactly where a buyer looks for them.

That also meant restraint. Every section and app added to a store competes with the photography for attention and for loading time, so the build kept the page quiet and let the textiles do the work.

New seasons and collaborations, front and centre.

The homepage leads with each new season and limited collections, like the one with Jessie Mordine Young, then moves into everyday styles, the philosophy behind the textiles and the heritage of the craft.

Fit, fabric and care, in plain sight.

An extended size range sits right beside the price with a size chart one tap away. Fabric, care and delivery and returns each have their own section, and the description explains the weave and the fit the way a stylist would.

What we did

A calm, fast store that puts the textiles first and answers fit and fabric questions before they are asked.

Under the hood

What the live store is built from.

World of Crow runs on the Showcase theme, version 7.1, read from the live page source. The homepage is built from a slideshow, featured collections, a gallery and rich text, which is what keeps it editorial. This is what is live in October 2026:

  • Colour swatches. A product colours app shows colour options as swatches, which suits a range where colour and pattern drive the choice.
  • Reviews and email. Judge.me reviews and Klaviyo email are loaded on the live store, along with a creator storefront integration.
  • Duties included in the US. The announcement bar reads “Complimentary shipping and duties included within the US”, which answers the biggest question for a brand made in India and sold in America.
  • International shoppers. A country selector is available, and on our visit from New Zealand prices were shown in New Zealand dollars.
  • Product data. Product pages output Product schema with brand, SKU, MPN and an Offer, so price and availability are readable by search engines.

Fast on real phonesShopify development

Checked on 3 October 2026.

We re-read the live store and Google’s real-visitor data on 3 October 2026. These figures describe the store as it runs today, including any apps added since our build.

  • Real visitors (Google Chrome UX Report, whole store, phones, 75th percentile, 28 days to 3 Oct 2026): Largest Contentful Paint 1.8 s, Interaction to Next Paint 88 ms, Cumulative Layout Shift 0.00. All three Core Web Vitals are inside Google’s “good” thresholds for real mobile visitors.

For similar merchants

When the product is the design.

For a textile-led brand, the store’s job is to get out of the way. That means a quiet layout, photography given room, and filters that match how people actually choose: colour, pattern and, for dresses, length.

The practical details matter just as much. A size chart one tap from the size selector, fabric and care in their own sections, and a clear statement that US duties are included remove the reasons an overseas brand loses a sale at the last step.

The real-visitor data backs up the approach: a photography-heavy store can still be quick and stable for shoppers when the images are sized properly and nothing moves as the page loads.

Questions

Which filters matter most on a fashion Shopify store?

The ones shoppers actually choose by. For World of Crow that is availability, price, colour, pattern and, for dresses, length. Generic filters like vendor or product type rarely help a clothing buyer.

How should an overseas brand handle US duties on Shopify?

Say clearly who pays them before checkout. World of Crow states in its announcement bar that shipping and duties are included within the US, which removes a common reason for abandoned carts.

Can a photography-heavy store still be fast?

Yes. World of Crow's real-visitor data shows good loading and no layout shift. Serving images at the size they are shown and reserving their space matters more than how many photos the page has.
