The short answer: Candy Rack is our pick for most stores, because it puts offers on the product page, in the cart, at checkout (on Shopify Plus), after payment and on the thank-you page, all from one app on a flat monthly price. If you only want post-purchase offers, look at Aftersell or Zipify OCU. If you are a larger brand after a full personalisation platform, look at Rebuy.
Every price and feature below comes from each app's live Shopify App Store listing, checked on 1 October 2026, and from the developer's own site where we say so. We have left out star ratings and review counts on purpose: they change daily, and they tell you less about fit than placements and pricing do. App prices change often, so confirm the current plan on the listing before you install.

1. Candy Rack: best all-in-one upsell app
Candy Rack, by Digismoothie, is built to cover the whole journey from one place. You can show one-click offers on the product page, add volume bundles and quantity breaks, run upsells inside its own slide-out cart drawer, add an offer block at checkout on Shopify Plus, and follow up after payment and on the thank-you page. Digismoothie counts up to eight separate placements across that journey.
Pricing steps up with your monthly online store orders: USD 29.99 up to 50 orders, USD 39.99 up to 200 and USD 59.99 up to 500 on the listing, with higher tiers on Digismoothie's site for bigger stores. Every paid plan includes unlimited upsell orders and revenue, so the app never takes a cut of what it sells for you. It can also pick offers with AI, run A/B tests through Intelligems, and add free gifts, warranties, shipping protection and gift wrap.
What we like
- Pre-purchase, checkout and post-purchase offers in one app
- Flat price by orders, with no revenue share
- A built-in cart drawer, so you may not need a separate cart app
- Built in the EU, with a clear GDPR position
Watch out for
- No free plan for live stores
- The checkout offer block needs Shopify Plus, as it does in every app here
Our verdict: if you want one upsell app and a predictable bill, start here. Covering the product page, cart and post-purchase from a single dashboard saves the app clutter we often clean up on client stores.
See Candy Rack on the Shopify App Store2. ReConvert: best free plan for small stores
ReConvert, now from Upsell.com, is known for post-purchase funnels and thank-you page offers, and it also covers the product page, cart and checkout on Plus. It includes one-click upsells, AI product recommendations, bundles, A/B testing and a drag-and-drop editor, and it supports Shopify Subscriptions and Shopify Bundles.
What we like
- A real free plan and a low first paid tier
- Every plan has the same features
- Strong post-purchase and thank-you page tools
Watch out for
- A steep jump from USD 9.99 to USD 199 once you pass 2,000
- The tier counts upsell revenue as well as orders, so success can move you up
Our verdict: the easiest way to try upsells for free. Check the pricing jump against your growth plans before you build your funnels around it.
See ReConvert on the Shopify App Store3. Aftersell: best for post-purchase offers
Aftersell, listed on the App Store by Rokt, grew up around one-click post-purchase offers with downsell funnels, and has since added an AI-built cart, product page upsells, checkout widgets on Plus and thank-you page cross-sells. It connects with Klaviyo, ReCharge, Skio, Yotpo and others.
Plans are split by feature set rather than volume: USD 34.99 for post-purchase, USD 59.99 for pre-purchase and USD 79.99 for everything. There is also Rokt Thanks, which places paid offers from other brands on your thank-you page and pays you per order.
What we like
- Mature post-purchase funnels with downsells
- Flat pricing that does not rise with order volume
- 30-day trial
Watch out for
- USD 79.99 a month for both pre-purchase and post-purchase
- Rokt Thanks shows other brands' offers, which not every brand will want
Our verdict: a strong choice when post-purchase is your main focus and you would rather pay a flat fee than a share of results.

4. Zipify OCU: best if you want to pay from results
Zipify One Click Upsell covers post-purchase, the product page, pre-purchase, the slide cart, checkout on Plus and the thank-you page. It uses dynamic AI offers, built-in A/B testing and targeting by product, cart value and customer tags, and connects with Klaviyo, Omnisend, Recharge, Skio and Zipify Pages.
You pay by the upsell revenue the app generates: USD 9.95 up to USD 200 a month in upsell revenue, rising in steps from there, and capped at USD 999. You never pay for order volume, and every paid tier has every feature.
What we like
- Cheap to start, and the cost follows results
- Wide placement coverage, including checkout on Plus
Watch out for
- The bill grows as the app succeeds, up to USD 999 a month
- Monthly costs are harder to forecast than a flat plan
Our verdict: fair pricing for a new store, and a well-proven tool for high-volume brands. Model the cost at your expected upsell revenue before committing.
See Zipify OCU on the Shopify App Store5. Rebuy: best for enterprise and Shopify Plus brands
Rebuy Personalization Engine is more of a platform than an upsell app. It handles AI personalisation across search, product recommendations, upsells, bundles and cross-sells, with its own Smart Cart, checkout extensions on Plus, post-purchase and thank-you page offers, re-order landing pages and Smart Flows for testing.
You build your plan from packages (cart and merchandising, checkout and post-purchase, search and collections, flows and testing), and the price scales with monthly orders. Full package pricing is on Rebuy's site rather than the App Store listing.
What we like
- Personalisation across the whole store, not just offers
- No-code, low-code and custom-code options for developers
Watch out for
- A full setup can run to hundreds of dollars a month
- More than a small store needs for a simple cart upsell
Our verdict: the right tool when you have the traffic and the team to use it. For a smaller store, one of the apps above will pay back sooner.
See Rebuy on the Shopify App Store6. Frequently Bought Together: best simple product-page bundles
Frequently Bought Together by Code Black Belt does one job: an Amazon-style "bought together" bundle on the product page and cart page, with one-click add to cart. You can let its AI suggest bundles or set them by hand, and discount them by percentage, fixed amount, a free item or free shipping. It can also show star ratings from Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo and other review apps.
What we like
- Very quick to set up, with no code
- A free plan and low paid tiers
- Available in 9 languages
Watch out for
- One type of offer only
- No post-purchase, thank-you page or cart drawer offers
Our verdict: a good first step for a small catalogue. Once you want offers after payment too, you will need a broader app.
See Frequently Bought Together on the Shopify App StoreHow to choose the right upsell app
- Start with placements. Decide where you want offers first: product page, cart, checkout or after payment. Only Shopify Plus stores can add offers inside checkout, but every store can use the other placements.
- Match the pricing model to your margins. Order-based plans (Candy Rack, Frequently Bought Together) are the easiest to budget. Revenue-based plans (Zipify OCU, and ReConvert partly) cost little at the start and more as they work.
- Check your cart setup. If you already use a cart drawer app, make sure the upsell app works with it, or replace both with one app that includes a cart.
- Watch page speed. Every widget adds scripts. Install one app, measure your product page speed before and after, and remove anything you do not use.
- Give it a proper test. Run one offer for two to four weeks and compare average order value, not just the upsell revenue the app reports.

Shopify upsell apps FAQ
What is the best upsell app for Shopify?
For most stores, Candy Rack by Digismoothie is the best all-round choice: it covers the product page, cart drawer, checkout (on Shopify Plus), post-purchase and thank-you page in one app, on a flat price by monthly orders with no revenue share. Stores focused only on post-purchase offers should also look at Aftersell or Zipify OCU, and larger brands that want full personalisation should look at Rebuy.
Can I add upsells to the Shopify checkout?
Offers inside the Shopify checkout itself need Shopify Plus, because they use checkout UI extensions that only Plus stores can add. Every store, on any plan, can still show upsells on the product page, in the cart and on the post-purchase and thank-you pages.
What is the difference between a pre-purchase and a post-purchase upsell?
A pre-purchase upsell is shown before the order is paid, on the product page or in the cart, and adds items to the same order. A post-purchase upsell is shown straight after payment and adds an item with one click, without the shopper entering their card details again. Post-purchase offers never put the original sale at risk, which is why many stores start there.
Should I run two upsell apps at the same time?
Usually not. Two apps can show competing offers, slow the page and double-count revenue in their reports. The exception is a focused app for one job next to a broader one, for example a simple frequently-bought-together widget on the product page alongside a post-purchase app, as long as each owns a different placement.
How much do Shopify upsell apps cost?
On the Shopify App Store in October 2026, paid plans for the apps in this guide start between USD 9.95 and USD 34.99 a month. Some price by monthly orders (Candy Rack, Frequently Bought Together), some by the upsell revenue they generate (Zipify OCU, and ReConvert by orders or upsell revenue), and some by feature set (Aftersell). ReConvert and Frequently Bought Together have free plans for small stores.
